Kevin is an Interactive Designer in the New York office. He is rather fashionable, and even instituted Formal Fridays at work to impose his style agenda on his fellow Barbarians.
We thought Kevin joined The Barbarian Group as an Interactive Designer straight outta school, marking our first foray into the concept of “entry level.” We didn’t get it quite right, however, since Kevin’s Flash chops were pretty well honed, having spent a year working in Chicago setting up the multimedia department for a healthcare company. Oh and also, he graduated from the prestigious Digital Media Design program at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at UPenn, and had internships at Electronic Arts and THUNKdesign in California. We probably should have looked at his resume a little closer before we hired him.
The whole foray paid off, however, when Kevin got here. He jumped right in, doing those amazing Flash sites we were hoping he could do. He’s proven himself particularly adept at game design, illustration-heavy design and animation.
We threw him right into the thick of things upon his arrival in 2003. His first project here was the 2004 Passat minisite. Since then he’s also served as lead designer and Flash developer on several other sites. He’s Canadian, but we forgive him for it.
Formal Friday Salute
Family portrait Friday in Ben’s office!

Formal Friday Salute
The Fundamental Theorem of Formal Friday: formality is inversely proportional to the temperature. Saying hello to fall with the blazer, but still clinging on to summer with the shorts.

As a side note, my iPhone camera is getting more artful with its bugginess:

Brand new Barbarian Daniel Schutzsmith’s first Formal Friday ever. Mr. McManus (not so formal) wonders what the fuss is all about.
